The Eta Delta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity for men was chartered on May 1, 1971 (with 22 brothers) on the campus of Grambling College in Louisiana and was lost in 1993.

 

On March 14th, 1995 at Louisiana Tech, the 1st interest meeting was held to re-charter the G.S.U. chapter of Phi Mu Alpha. March 16th, 1995, 16 members were selected for the Symphonic Club. March 28th, 1995, the 1st meeting was held at Louisiana Tech in the small practice room. On May 6th, 1995 at Louisiana Tech, the Symphonic Club held their 1st recital. January 16th, 1996, the Symphonic Club achieved colony status on the campus of G.S.U. in the little theater in Dunbar Hall. April 13th, 1996, the Louisiana Beta Colony was pinned as probationary members.  On May 27th, 1996 the Louisiana Beta Colony officially became the Omicron Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity for men at Grambling State University at Northwestern University (Gamma Rho). The Omicron Lambda chapter is the 13th chapter founded at a historically black college and has provided music on G.S.U.'s campus since it's birth.
